Dear Friends, I was recently challenged to write my biography in only one hundred words. That’s tricky! But I am happy with what I have written:
My parents wanted me. After three more daughters they couldn’t cope. Our family life was unhappy, but culturally stimulating. I did well in school and loved reading and writing. My teenage boyfriends were everything to me. I married at twenty and knew passionate young love. We had two children we loved dearly. My divorce gave me empathy for others who don’t live perfect lives. I blossomed through more writing, female friendships and lifelong learning. Now, my four grandchildren give me hope for the future. I know I am beloved of God. How fortunate I am to have had it all.
Yep, that was one hundred words! How about you? Could you write your biography in just one hundred words? I’d love to see it. You can email it to me at nancyrunner@hotmail.com.
This year is almost over, and my Good Things in 2024 jar is quite full, despite some painful losses this year. My jar is a reminder that there are always good things happening. On New Year’s Day, I will empty it out, read each slip of paper, and be reminded of all that was good. Then I’ll create a new jar Good Things in 2025, empty and full of promise. I’ll share some of the 2024 good things with you, too.
I wish you all happy holidays and a healthy 2025, full of growth, friends, family, and all good things.
